At Nugs & Ames Foundation, we refuse to accept that.
Our Justice for the Innocent program is built on the belief that no one should lose their freedom because they couldn’t afford a lawyer. Through our network of volunteer lawyers, legal advocates, and human rights partners, we provide hope, defense, and second chances to those silenced by circumstance.
What We Do
Our legal aid program focuses on action, advocacy, and aftercare. We don’t just fight cases — we restore lives.

Free Legal Representation: Partnering with volunteer lawyers to defend those wrongly detained or without counsel.
Bail Support & Case Follow-ups: Helping families secure bail and ensuring cases aren’t abandoned.
Justice Education: Teaching citizens their rights and how to access fair representation.
Reintegration Support: Offering guidance, mental health support, and skill programs to help freed individuals rebuild their lives.
Real Stories: From Cell to Freedom
When Chidi, a 24-year-old mechanic, was arrested for a crime he didn’t commit, his family couldn’t afford legal help. He spent months in detention, hopeless and forgotten — until the Nugs & Ames legal team took up his case.
Through months of advocacy and legal defense, Chidi was proven innocent and released. Today, he volunteers with us, using his story to inspire others.
